Season Recap

The O’s Senior Babe Ruth team finished the season with a record of 7-11 in the very competitive Chesmont league. The league included 22 teams this season.

The Orioles won the Berks Eastern Division title, posted the best season record in the league, swept the Berks County playoffs to take the Berks County Championship, and finished as runner-up in the PA Region 2 tournament. The playoff sweep included the trouncing of the Boyertown Bears, 13-1 in 8 innings, and the 7-6 stunning victory over Muhlenberg for the Championship. For those of you who may be new to our program, this past season was the most successful in our history. The team posted an 18-4 regular season record and went 28-11 overall. Congratulations to the players, coaches and parents.

At the Berks County American Legion League Banquet the Orioles received the Sportsmanship award, voted on by head coaches in the league. This is believed to be the first time that the championship team also won the award for sportsmanship.

Four Orioles players were selected for the All-Berks team: Ty Brewer, Pete Colon, Jim Everhart, and Charlie Werner.
